Tom Vitt
OF COUNSEL
I am a trial lawyer who enjoys helping clients make sound strategic decisions about their intellectual property disputes. I have served as lead trial counsel in many patent, trademark, trade dress, false advertising, and trade secret cases in federal and state courts around the country. I have led trial teams representing clients in a range of industries, including medical devices, health care information technology, oil refining, fishing equipment, and manufacturing. I also have extensive experience arguing patent appeals at the Federal Circuit.
My work has been recognized by Chambers USA and the Legal 500, and I have been named repeatedly to the Best Lawyers in America list and recognized as a Minnesota Super Lawyer.
EXPERIENCED • PRACTICAL
Before joining McCurdy Laud, I was a partner in Jones Day's intellectual property group for six years. I spent the first 29+ years of my career as an associate and then a partner at the Dorsey & Whitney firm, where I served for several years as the leader of Dorsey's intellectual property litigation practice.
Outside of work, I enjoy hosting family and friends at our lake cabin near Hayward, Wisconsin, reading, watching NBA and Minnesota Gophers hoops, and traveling with my wife, Kamala.
